Spend a day in South Australia’s most iconic wine region with Groovy Grape’s Barossa Day Out – a full-day adventure that mixes great wine, good food, and local character with a bit of groovy flair.

We start the day heading through the scenic Adelaide Hills to Gumeracha, home of the Big Rocking Horse. Whether you climb to the top for the views or wander down to say hello to the kangaroos and wallabies, it’s a fun and quirky stop to kick things off.

Next up is the Whispering Wall – a unique engineering marvel where your voice travels across the curved dam wall. Give it a go and see just how far a whisper can carry.

From there, we roll into the Barossa Valley, one of the world’s great wine regions. Our first winery visit is Kies Family Wines, a small, family-run cellar door with six generations of winemaking history. Here, you’ll enjoy a structured tasting of their handcrafted wines — from fresh, fruit-driven whites to bold Shiraz and their much-loved Monkey Nut Rosé. The warm, personal feel of Kies sets the tone for a truly local experience.

Next, we visit Lambert Estate, where you’ll enjoy a guided tasting in a beautiful hilltop setting.

Lunch is all about wood-fired gourmet pizzas, served in a laid-back, social setting.

After lunch, we swing by Melba’s Chocolate Factory for a sweet stop – think handmade chocolates, nostalgic lollies, and maybe a cheeky treat for later.

Next, we visit Rhen Bier Brewhouse, a local favourite for small-batch beers and great Barossa vibes. Try a tasting paddle or settle in with a cold one – it’s the perfect way to break up the afternoon.

Before we head back to Adelaide, we stop in the heart of Tanunda, where you’ll have time to explore. Browse the shops, grab a coffee or an ice cream, or simply soak up the charm of this historic Barossa town.

As the day winds down, relax on the drive home with new friends, great memories, and maybe a few bottles of wine in tow. It’s a day in the Barossa – the Groovy Grape way.
